First Shipping Container Building in Malaysia
| By admin | Category: Profiled ISBU ProjectAs someone that lives in a topical climate myself I fully appreciate that many people are interested in how we can design using Shipping Container Houses for temperature extremes ( both high and low )
Perhaps the greatest achievement of this newly completed Shipping Container Building in Malaysia is the fact that the developers claim that they dont require air conditioning or even a fan to achieve a very comfortable stable 25 degree C.

Architect Ken Kwok says its all because of the openings and plecements of the building on the site. The carefully placed doors and windows allow natural circulation plus cross ventilation.

The building is situated at Bukit Tinggi Pahang a famous holiday spot, the design covers an area of more than 2500 sft and has been designed using the following core principles.
smart design, recycle and reuse, energy efficient and conserve water.
Estimated construction costs are under $45 SQFT

WOW, very impressive!! Owe a chic container house like this make my dream come true!!
very neat….
Beautiful
It’s so potential……..Personally, I can’t see any harm in living in a shipping container home like this, provided it is well grounded (for electricity and water supply) and well ventilated (so you don’t die of C02 poisoning). Our countries have surpluses of shipping containers thanks to their trade deficits with China (ie, they import more than? they export) so I suppose you can usually pick one up quite reasonable price. Btw, I love this design very much!
The power structures against earthquakes?
your shipping containers are good but need to be modified more for everyone’s benifeit.
Thanks for your post and your interest in our site, can you explain what you mean by that ?
Hi
Am very interested. Do you have something on a smaller scale? How much land and container is required for a small family of 2-3? Like 2 rooms, kitchen, living room, store room? The bungalow is lovely but too huge for my need. Looking at micro living
Thanks
Wow! I’m a Malaysian too and I wish to own a Micro Container House In Terengganu. Impressive works man!
Very good work, Need to have your contact for exchange of ideas.
Keep up your good work ..would be able to reduce cost with out compensating the quality.
I’m writing you from the island of Caye Caulker, Belize in Central America. I’m interested in this concept for 2 purposes at our little school:
1) Dorm housing for volunteers
2) Marine biology lab facility
Island factors to take into account are hurricanes and flooding, very saline environment, sandy ground not soil/rock, heat.
I also know of a competition for “Sustainable Urban Housing” that carries a $10,000usd prize and I’d like to discuss my entry ideas with you. My email is above.

Excellent…..I’m contemplating on a corner lot terrace house extension in a city municipality using isbu container cabin…..I was wondering whether this method of contruction is permitted. If so, are there any architect firm in Malaysia, that has designed to this effect?
Thank you.
