Shipping Containers used in this elegant 57SQM  house extension is located in suburbs of Nantes France. house extension project by Christophe Nogry.

The design utilizes 1 x 40-foot and 1 x 20-foot shipping container. Because of the long deep site Christophe decided that a shipping container would be the perfect building module for the extension.

Due to the long narrow measurements he designed a custom storage wall solution for one wall and a connecting bridge creates a very comfortable living space.

The second floor extension contains an additional bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

    If you are considering modular or prefab home, or looking for an alternative to high cost construction, building with recycled shipping containers is worth taking a look at. There are many considerations that have contributed to the appeal of building with inter-modal shipping containers – availability, standardization, the recycled/green factor, economy and speed of construction, their durability, and even their “elegance/grace”.
