Following  the incredible popularity of our digital book series – The  Most Influential Shipping Container Homes Ever Built – we  have decided to release a number of expanded  titles  for 2015 showcasing in greater detail some of the  best in Container based Construction from around the World.

Book 62 – 120 SQM Shipping Container Home with Green Roof – Russia

Today’s Container Homes was built using 4 x Type 1A 40’ HC Containers by NG Systems in Moscow Russia.

The 120 SQM ( 1290 sqft ) 2 Story Home was constructed using a 24 steel pier foundation, 150mm externally fixed polyurethane foam insulation and external timber cladding.

The ground floor accommodates the living room, kitchen, boiler room, bathroom and hallway. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, a library and a bathroom with Outdoor Terraces.

The house is equipped with a system of water heating radiators and boilers fired by natural gas and the rubber membrane roof is covered with a layer of earth 300 mm, sown with grass.

Time of Onsite Construction: 2 months.
