Following the incredible popularity of our digital book series – The Most Influential Shipping Container Homes Ever Built – we have decided to release a number of expanded titles for 2015 showcasing in greater detail some of the best in Container based Construction from around the World.
Book 76 – Hybrid Container House and ICF Sierra Nevada Mountains California.
Today’s featured Container Home was constructed by Owner Builders Kyle and Hannah in the Sierra Nevada Mountains California.
The House uses 2 x Type 1A 40’ HC + 2 x 45’ Type 1A HC Containers in side by side Parallel and double Stacked configuration with an Insulated Concrete Form Structure abutting the Containers.
They have incorporated a number of recycle-reuse-repurpose principals into in the design and build process of the home, with many decisions about the best path foward being made as needs arise. Kyle and Hannah have tried to make ecologically responsible decisions whenever possible.
