Following  the incredible popularity of our digital book series – The  Most Influential Shipping Container Homes Ever Built – we  have decided to release a number of expanded  titles  for 2015 showcasing in greater detail some of the  best in Container based Construction from around the World.

Shipping Container Homes – Book 38 – Compact Container House Santa Barbara California

Todays Container Home is another compact Container Home built from just 2 x Type 1A 40’ HC Containers.

Owner Spencer Bruce contracted IPME to design and construct this 640 sqft Container Home in Santa Barbara California.

The two Containers where modified off site and placed on Concrete Pier Foundations on a Parallel Offset using a Heavy lift crane.

Despite its modest footage Mr Bruce’s home features a large Bedroom and very large Bathroom including full sized Shower. The beautiful landscaping sets of the Home and includes a hot tub for relaxation and entertainment, and a stand alone container for storage and laundry.
