Shipping Container House Plan Book Series – Book 8

| By | Category: Free Tutorial, Profiled ISBU Home Projects

Following  the incredible popularity of our digital book series – The  Most Influential Shipping Container Homes Ever Built – we  have decided to release a number of expanded  titles  for 2013 showcasing in greater detail some of the  best in Container based Construction from around the World.

House Book 8 – Large Open Interior Space

This week’s featured Shipping Container Home uses 8 x 40′ Type 1A Stacked Containers to create a 2,240 sqft home assembled using modular construction methods.

The house has a one car garage, storage, kitchen, dining and living area with an open floor layout where part of the upper floor was cut away to create double height spaces for the ground floor.

The large open interior space maintains a bold industrial look and feel with steel corridors and stairs, the large polycarbonate and glass bay windows use low-eneregy coatings and are and argon gas filled providing plenty of natural light.

Number of Containers: 8 x 40′  Type 1A Shipping Containers
